Feminist Night at the Movies features Wonder Women! The Untold Story of American Superheroines at ALA Annual in Chicago, Sunday, June 30, 2012 from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Chicago (151 E. Wacker Drive) in Columbus AB. Filmmaker Kristy Guevara-Flanagan will be at the showing to discuss the movie and the making of the movie.

Wonder Women, a PBS Independent Lens production filmed by Kristy Guevara-Flanagan and produced by Kelcey Edwards,
traces the evolution and legacy of Wonder Woman and explores how popular representations of powerful women often reflect society’s anxieties about women’s liberation. It features TV stars Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman) and Lindsay Wagner (The Bionic Woman), as well as Gloria Steinem and others who take a feminist approach to this pop culture genre.
